Start Scanning Now01 Getting Started
What is BugHunter?
BugHunter is an automated diagnostic platform designed to help developers and website operators identify browser exceptions, broken resource requests, and network anomalies, providing AI-assisted impact analysis and actionable patch suggestions.
How do I scan a website?
Navigate to the scanner on the home page, enter the full URL (including HTTPS) of a domain you own or are authorized to test, and click "Scan Website". You can also run scans on login-protected pages by toggling authentication options.
Do I need coding experience to use BugHunter?
No. BugHunter translates raw stack traces and status codes into plain-language summaries detailing potential business consequences, while also preserving technical logs for engineering teams to debug directly.
02 Scanning & Detection
What types of issues can BugHunter detect?
The scanner visits pages through an instrumented browser, capturing unhandled JavaScript runtime exceptions, failed network API requests (4xx/5xx status codes), broken hyperlinks, missing image assets, and basic form configuration defects.
Can BugHunter scan login-protected pages?
Yes. Use the "Scan a Protected Website" toggle on the home page to submit staging or test credentials. Ensure you only test sandbox accounts on domains you are authorized to evaluate.
Does BugHunter catch every bug on a website?
No automated tool can guarantee 100% bug detection. Dynamic user flows, conditional edge cases, and deep multi-step interactions should always be supplemented by manual QA and automated unit tests.
Can I scan any website on the internet?
No. You must only scan domains you own or have explicit written permission to test. Unauthorized scanning may violate Terms of Service or local computer misuse laws.
03 AI Analysis & Recommendations
How does the AI analysis assist in debugging?
BugHunter's AI interprets the combined context of HTTP status codes, browser console errors, and page elements. It summarizes likely root causes, estimates end-user impact (such as broken checkouts or missed clicks), and outlines prioritized troubleshooting steps.
Are AI-suggested code fixes guaranteed to work?
AI suggestions provide intelligent starting hypotheses, not certified production code. Always verify suggested remedies in a local development branch or staging environment before deploying live.
Can I download or export scan reports?
Yes, scan findings can be viewed directly in your report dashboard and exported according to the capabilities enabled on your plan.
04 Privacy & Troubleshooting
Does BugHunter store my credentials or scan results?
Scan results are associated with your account or session for report review. Protected scan credentials are transmitted over encrypted TLS connections solely to complete the authentication handshake and are not stored in plaintext logs.
Why might a website scan fail or time out?
Scans may fail if the target server is unreachable, enforces strict CAPTCHAs, blocks headless browser user agents via WAF rules, or takes longer than the timeout limit to respond. Check that your target URL is publicly reachable and retry.
